Jordan and Andy
How We Met
Andy and I first met in middle school, he was in eighth grade and I was in seventh grade. At the time he was dating my friend and I really did not think much of him. Fast forward to high school I was a sophomore and Andy was a junior we both had joined our high school drum line (I know band nerds lol) and we had 6th period band together so we would always end up talking and our last classes of the day were right next to each other so we would walk to class together. The homecoming dance was approaching and I had really wanted to go. I started developing feelings for Andy and not knowing he started to feel the same for me. I ended up telling some mutual friends of ours that I really wanted him to ask me to the dance, they ended up telling him and he asked me! We went to the dance and on 09/28/2012 Andy asked me to be his girlfriend and five years later we are still going strong!
How He Asked
Back when Andy and I were in high school, specifically band class, we made a bet which sadly I don’t remember what the bet was. Since I lost the bet and it had earned Andy a “wish card” that I had signed, basically saying that it grants him one wish that I would do whatever he wanted. Andy had saved that wish card in his wallet and always reminded me that he had it and I always asked him when he would use it and he said eventually one day he would cash it in. One day, this past December, I was scrolling through Instagram and saw that Andy had posted a picture of us and I noticed there was a comment from a photography account with heart eyes; I didn’t think much of it. Later, that same night I got an Instagram direct message from the girl that owned the photography account (Gianna), saying that she thought we were a cute couple and asking if I would be down to do a photo shoot at Big Bear Lake. I was super excited, because I wanted to take some Insta-worthy pictures to add to my feed. We settled on a date that turned out to be perfect since Andy is currently in the Air Force and is stationed in Illinois and was only going to be down in So Cal for two weeks. So on 12/26/2017 we drove up to Big Bear Lake and met up with Gianna. I was super nervous since Iv’e never had professional pictures taken before (other then school yearbook pictures). We found a really pretty spot with trees and started taking “candid” photos. Gianna then told me to close my eyes and that she was going to have Andy do a funny pose to get a genuine reaction from me. With my eyes closed Andy started telling me how much he loves me, how he was so thankful God had put us together, and how he wanted to cash in his wish card that he won five years ago to ask me to marry him! Of course, I said yes. I was so happy I could not stop smiling. I looked down and saw him on his knee and my actual dream ring!
Andy had planned the whole thing from the Instagram post and on. We spent the rest of the night taking pictures and had gone to the village and ate at a fancy restaurant. It was one of the best nights of my life thus far and I cannot wait to marry my best friend!
