Jocasta and Nick
How We Met
When a man and a woman swipe right… but seriously we meet on Tinder. It was the best split decision I’ve made in my life. Our first date was Oct 29, 2015, at Two Bits in Nashville, TN. We drank beer, played board games, and laughed the night away. We liked each other but weren’t ready to settle down yet. We kept in touch over the next year or so and by January 2017 we knew it was time buckle down. We were simply what each other wanted and needed! Our relationship and love has taken us from Nashville to Memphis and now our new home in Alaska. The adventure keeps getting sweeter.
How He Asked
Nick and I recently bought a mini jet boat to explore Alaska. This was our maiden voyage together. He did a test run earlier in the week and told me he found a great spot for an “instagram-worthy”.
We drove 45 minutes to Girdwood from Anchorage then set sail on the Placer River. We cruised through the Alaskan wilderness for an hour viewing snow capped mountains, the Alaska train, and ice blue water. Then we turned a bend and BAM a huge glacier emerged. It was stunning.
We rode up to it and parked then climbed for a better view. On it, we set up the selfie tripod to capture the moment.
Then Nick took my hand and start saying sweet things, and I yelled, “Are you proposing!!!” He got down on one need and popped out the most stunning ring. I thought I was going to faint. I was hot and cold at the same time and my hands were shaking. I screamed yes, then hugged his so hard and long. I didn’t want to let go!
