Jennifer and Chad
How We Met
We met in elementary school and dated (if you can call it that) shortly before I moved schools and we lost touch. We ran into each other periodically as the years passed, once outside of the gym and then my sister began working for his brother and his dad by complete fluke. On my birthday the summer before we began dating we ran into each other in Las Vegas and gave each other a wave, who would’ve known that just 6 months later we would be dating and three years later engaged.
How He Asked
Chad knew how special Langdon Hall was to me. I always joked about wanting to get married there and then was disappointed when we quickly realized how big our wedding would likely be, taking my dream venue out of the running. The day he proposed he told me we were going on a hike and then out for dinner to celebrate some interview success I had. Chad treats me like gold, so this wasn’t incredibly out of the ordinary but after pulling off the 401 westbound into Langdon Hall I began to think maybe something was going on. He told me to be ready for dinner by 5:00 and then left me in this beautiful suite. I began to get ready and started texting my future sister in law and current sister but they acted very nonchalant telling me he was probably just being his regular super sweet self (little did I know they knew what was going on). Once I was ready for dinner, he put on a suit and then took me by the hand and led me around the property all the while telling me he loved me and was so proud of me and then brought me to this table under a tree of lights with two champagne glasses. I asked him if this was for us, he said it was and so I asked him where he wanted me to sit and he replied, “I would like you to stand”. It was then that I knew he was proposing and I immediately burst into tears as he got on one knee and said some very lovely things that to this day neither of us remember. I think I said yes before he even opened the ring box, he then told me to look in the direction of the bushes that a wedding photographer had shot the whole thing. Caileigh came right over, congratulated us and then before we even had a chance to tell or family what happened we did an impromptu photo shoot. I could not love the photos more, they all genuinely convey our excitement and happiness and will be a treasure I hold onto for the rest of our lives.
