Engagement Proposal Ideas in Rocky Mountain National Park

How We Met

A few years ago I was living in Dallas and was out watching the Patriots play the Packers. I’m from Boston so it was a big game to watch for me! Halfway through the game I noticed Eric decked out in Packers gear, from the minute we got each others attention it was full of playful banter throughout the rest of the game. Once the game was over we went our separate ways and we didn’t hear from each other for a little while. Fast forward three weeks or so and we ran into each other again and that’s when I knew I wanted to get to know him better. The next day we went on our first date and have been inseparable ever since. Our relationship has been full of adventures and excitement ever since!

How He Asked

Eric and I moved to Colorado about a year ago and we are always out on the mountains. We had just moved into a new home and had spent the whole weekend unpacking, come Monday he kept saying let’s take a break and go snowshoeing tomorrow (he just got me new snowshoes for Christmas and was insisting we use them). I was hesitant because we still had so much to do but figured why not we could use a break. We drove up to Rocky Mountain National Park early Tuesday and started our hike on Bear Lake Trail. It’s not uncommon for us to suddenly decide to go up to the park so I didn’t think anything of it. It was crazy snowing and bitter cold, so once we got to the top I was ready to turn around and get back to the bottom haha. He stopped me from turning around and said “I couldn’t imagine a lifetime of adventures without you” and asked to marry me.

I was in shock and we both started crying it was the best moment of my life! Once Eric got up to put the ring on my finger another couple walked up and asked if they were interrupting anything and Eric said no but you can take some pictures for us!!

We headed back down (faster than I think I’ve ever gone down a mountain before haha) and about halfway we stopped to take some pictures just the two of us in the snow. The couple who took pictures for us caught back up to us and the guy ran over asking if we could return the favor and he had the same idea!!!! It was such a magical day, not only did we get to share our proposal with someone else but they got to as well. We will always be tied to that couple in some way which makes it so much more unforgettable!!! January 10th 2017 was the best day of my life and I couldn’t be happier to spend it with the man of my dreams!!!
