How We Met
My high school crush became my college love when he swept me away with his not so smooth date proposal at a local rotary meeting Christmas break of freshman year. One date lead to another and before we knew it we were inseparable. That is, until I had to leave 300 miles away for school again. The saying is true that distance does indeed make the heart grow fonder. We made the distance work with whimsy adventures over the weekends and many surprise visits. Summers together were spent fishing, hiking and wasting time together that we would never consider a waste. One of our favorite things to do together has always been fishing. It was a dream of ours to someday adventure to Alaska to catch some of the infamous King Salmon. That dream came a reality when we spent his graduation vacation on Alaskan waters. I had no idea what a dream this trip would become when he had me pick out the most beautiful ring I had ever laid eyes on.
How He Asked
Like I mentioned earlier, when my love and I were on our Alaskan adventure, the man of my dreams had me pick out the ring of my dreams. When we arrived home from vacation he asked my father for his blessing. Shortly after this, he took me on a hike along the beautiful Avila Beach Ridge trail on the coast of central, our home. At the top he asked me to be his forever!
On top of that he even had it all captured on camera by a hidden photographer. Once we got down to the beach both of our families were there with flowers, happy tears and lots of hugs. We then enjoyed lunch all together as one family. It was a dream.
