Hunter and Camilla
How We Met
Hunter and I met in middle school, but never really got to know each other until our senior year of high school. We had 2 classes together and met one night to study at Barnes and Noble. We ended up staying there for hours talking about our families, our dreams, and how important Jesus is to both of us. I knew that night that I was head over heels for this boy. We started dating shortly after and I just knew I was going to marry this sweet 17-year-old boy. Almost 5 years later that sweet, sweet boy got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him.
How He Asked
It was the week before spring break and I had a huge test that Tuesday I had to get through before I was done until after spring break! Hunter had suggested that we go out to a nice dinner after my test Tuesday to celebrate the start of spring break. He picked me up that night and took me to an early dinner where we laughed a lot, ate a lot, and I had no idea what was about to happen. During dinner, he asked if I wanted to go and watch the sunset on the rowing docks. This was not too out of the ordinary for us considering we love to go to the docks with our dogs. It was a beautiful sunny evening but was so cold! We got to the docks and got out of his truck and I immediately asked if we could go home because of how cold it was.
Hunter ignored my request and kept walking down towards the water. I followed and asked this time if I could at least go get my jacket. At this point, he took my hand and said “let’s go look at that” as he pointed to a dock lined with roses and candles. At that point, I knew what was happening and I immediately stopped and started crying. Through my tears, we continued down to the dock and he picked up each of the roses to give to me.
They all had a reason why he loved me attached to the stem and after he read each one he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so overwhelmed with love, happiness, and pure joy and I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with the most amazing man.
