Hannah and Frank
how we met
My fiance, Frank Vitale, and I met the very first day we moved into the freshman dorms and Kennesaw State University in August 2009. His roommate thought my roommate was cute, so they decided to hang out and bring their roommates with them. From the moment Frank and I met, we had an immediate connection. At cliche as it sounds, I really do feel like it was love at first sight. We all became really close friends and hung out every single day. In October, we began dating.
One of the many things that I love about Frank is that he is very creative with presents and date nights. One year for Christmas Eve dinner, he decided to rent a limo and go to downtown Atlanta for a night on the town. The one thing that these special days always have in common is that it is always a surprise. So now for my birthday, anniversary, Christmas, etc, I don’t ask.
how he asked
On my birthday, October 12th, of 2014 Frank told me we were going on a day trip. After an hour and a half in the car–where I probably said, “Are we there yet?!” more than a five year old on a road trip–we finally arrived at Montaluce Winery in Dahlonega, GA. I was so excited because I had never been there before. It was so cool with its old Italian, rustic vibe.
We enjoyed lunch out on the patio with live music overlooking the vinyard and small lake. I saw some people walking around below, so I decided after lunch I wanted to take a walk as well.
After lunch we walked down to the lake and then through each row of vines. I stopped to take a picture, since the location was so beautiful, and as I turned around Frank had dropped down on one knee and proposed. Of course I immediately started bawling (tears of joy obviously) and couldn’t wait to say “yes” to the love of my life. It was absolutely perfect and I was totally not expecting it!
We decided to return to Montaluce for our engagement pictures because it was just so beautiful, and selfies just didn’t do it justice.
