Gracie and Andrew
how we met
Andrew and I met on my first day of work at Kaffee Meister coffee shop. He pursued getting to know me and came in every single day when I was working so he could see me and talk to me. I could tell he really really really liked me . Well as we began to get to know each other over the next 2 weeks, Andrew found out he had been accepted into the Border patrol and that they were transferring him to Texas in 1 week from that day. I didn’t know where are friendship was headed, but I was heartbroken that he would be moving, so every single day we committed to hanging out all day till he left. Well the last day before he left, he asked me to be in a relationship with him. I said yes and there the adventure began! He came out to visit me a couple times in a series of 7 months, about once every 1-2 months. We grew so CLOSE and so strong together in our relationship through the long distance and I didn’t mind waiting as long I had to to see him again.
how he asked
Well April 22nd he flew down to visit as usual, and the next day, April 23rd, he said he had an adventure for us planned. He picked me up at my house that morning and took me to every single place we had ever had a memory together before he had moved to Texas. At each place he handed me a love note describing what he remembered most about that memory we had together, what he had learned about me at that place, and why he loved that memory.
We had gone to about 5 different places, and our last place we stopped at Torrey Pines, where we had never been there together before. He said he wanted to go somewhere different with me to end the day so we could have a new memory before he left again. Well we drove near the top of the trail and we walked this small trail heading towards the beach view. He then took my hand unexpectedly and leaf me to the top of a small hill leading to a small ledge on the edge of a cliff. As I looked up, he had a beautiful blanket and bouquets of colorful flowers all around it. At this point I knew what was happening and I began to cry with joy.
He lead me down to the cliff, on to the blanket, and handed me one last love note. He explained to me that he wanted to make memories with me for the rest of his life and how much I meant to him. He explained that he loved me so dearly and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me.
When I was finished reading the letter I a looked up at him and he knelt down and asked ” Grace, will you marry me?” I cried with joy and he held me for a while as we celebrated the happiest moment of my entire life. I am so in love and am blown away by how it all happened, but most of all, I cannot wait to be Andrew Hoffman’s wife.
