Gladys and John Paul
How We Met
We met at the university library, which is funny because it was the one and only time he ever visited the library and till this date, he likes to believe we met at the uni bar. For the next 6 years our paths crossed a few times (nothing more than a drink)… Until the night I attended a birthday held at his restaurant and he played the perfect host, so I asked him out to dinner as a thank you. At that dinner, we decided to embark on a food journey. I remember the waitress making a cheeky comment to him to never let me go and I was extremely embarrassed (it was the first time we were ever out!). Dinner by dinner, our bond grew. One night, after months of fine dining, under a display of fireworks he asked me to be his girlfriend. We had fallen in love over our love for food.
How He Asked
Over a year later, he suggested we go for a walk before our next dinner date. He took me to a beautiful location in Sydney, hand in hand he led me to a gazebo where the words “Marry Me” lit up the night. With the most beautiful view of the city, he dropped to one knee and asked me to be his forever. We enjoyed the most romantic picnic there as an engaged couple!
