Gabrielle and Marc
How We Met
Marc and I were in the same second-grade class and lived less than a minute from each other for most of our lives. We were never necessarily friends, more like acquaintances. His friend’s group and mine were intertwined so we would cross paths with one another through our lives, but nothing came of it. In the summer of 2014 my sister was at a party and saw a guy she liked and he happened to be with Marc. My sister Marc should message me and we go on a double date. Marc didn’t message me but started liking everything on my social media. I told my sister and she told what she said to him.
Fast forward a few months, it was right after Christmas (which is Marc’s birthday), my friends and I decided to go to a bar in Philly. At first, I didn’t want to go I was tired and hungover, but my best friend persuaded me, and good thing she did. I was outside and a guy we’re all friends with is there. He is the type of guy who likes to get you worked up, which he did and I started yelling at him. As I’m yelling at him I hear someone saying woah what’s going on here as I turn to give attitude I see it’s Marc. I instantly stopped yelling and talked to Marc most of the night we exchanged numbers and left. He texted me to meet him at a local bar, me and my best friend went and she asked him 21 questions, literally. After that night we began dating, we went on our first vacation together to Disney, for our one year anniversary we went to Punta Cana, and a few months after that we bought a house and moved in together. I knew in the first three months of our relationship I loved him and wanted to marry him.
How He Asked
Every night after we moved in I asked him to marry me and he always said someday. December 5, 2017, was that someday. My family went to Disney the beginning of December there was a group of probably 15 of us. My dad had told everyone before breakfast in the Magic Kingdom he wanted to do group photos. We got in line for a photographer on Main Street and he took our big group over to a private area in front of the castle. We took a bunch of photos. Families, friends, couples, Marc and I were the last couple, he started fidgeting and whispered in my ear what do you ask me every night and got down on one knee.
I instantly started crying hysterically, and don’t remember much after that moment. It was truly Magical to have my whole family there to witness this moment, and for it to be in Disney which is my absolute favorite place on Earth. I realized quickly after, that of all days I forgot my phone. We went back to the hotel to grab it and finally was able to enjoy this moment just ourselves. Every time I watch the video I cry. I couldn’t have asked for a better man, I love him with all my heart.
