Erin and Jonathan
How We Met
Jonathan and I met through a mutual friend technically through Instagram but across the world. Jonathan was a tour photographer and was in Hamburg, Germany at the time. Our mutual friend posted a photo I had taken of him all the way back in Kentucky. Jonathan clicked on the photo credit and immediately messaged David, “Who is this girl!?” Without International service, Jonathan spent the rest of his evening pacing back and forth around an atrium next to the venue so the wifi would reach for him to Skype David devising a plan of how they could casually introduce us. David ended up putting us in a group chat saying “you’re both awesome photographers, be friends!” I knew he was the one immediately. It was such a strange but exciting feeling that I could see my future in the blink of an eye.
How He Asked
Fast forward a year or so to us taking a trip to Denmark to photograph a wedding. We spent a couple days there then moved onto a must see city – Hamburg. We got off the train where Jonathan led me to the exact spot where he first saw my name. There, in front of this graffiti-covered rock venue, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so overwhelmed with excitement because I had known for so long that he was the one. It was so romantic and every bit of perfect. I was bawling my eyes out and completely forgot to say yes!
