Erin and Brady

How We Met

Brady and I met 6 years ago working at Helly Hansen in the Bellevue Square Mall. We hit it off right away, talking about how crazy out college nights were and what type of trouble we go into. At the time, I was dating someone else.  About 6 months to a year went by, i had a new job, and heard through the grapevine that Brady got promoted. I still couldn’t get this guy off my mind, something was different, he was different. So i took to Facebook to find him and when I did, i sent him a message with my phone number and to call me for a date. Here we are 5 1/2 years later, engaged and still crazy about each other.

How He Asked

We flew down to LA the first week in April, only to have the weather be pouring rain and 50 degrees all 4 days we were there. Brady was very adamant about seeing El Matador State Beach in Malibu, saying the rock formations and beach were absolutely stunning.  As we got to the parking lot for the beach, it was raining and humid, but we still hiked our way down the stairs and rocks to the beach below, realizing that we had the ENTIRE beach to ourselves!  We sat and watched the waves roll in for a while, talking about our travel adventures, and how much we truly love and appreciate one another.

As I got up to leave getting wet and cold, Brady pulled my hand back, which I thought was weird.  He pulled me in and held me close, kissing me and telling me how much he loves and appreciates all that I do for us.  I started to think ‘Could this be the moment? No way, Brady doesn’t plan something this big, not this far from home. Is Ashton Kutcher going to pop out and punk me?!’   At that moment, he got on one knee and asked me to marry him. “I love how we travel to new places and create adventures together. But the real reason I brought you here today, is to start a new and different type of adventure with you…”

I completely lost it, ugly cry face and all.   Brady even had a friend hiding behind the rocks taking secret photos of the entire proposal.
