Emily and Zac's Pottery Painting Proposal
How we met: Zac and I met in my sophomore year of high school. We absolutely could not stand each other! Then a teacher made me tutor him for a class. After being forced to spend time together, we became friends, and shortly after, best friends. I developed feelings for him over time, but had no idea if he felt the same way. Eventually I got tired of waiting for him to make a move, so I brought up the idea of an “us”. He wasn’t sure that he wanted to be in a relationship because he was entering the Marine Corps the following year. On August 13, 2013, Zac asked me to be his girlfriend, saying that he wanted to give it a try. Two years later, he is a United States Marine (and became even more attractive), I am in school for pastry arts, we are in love, and are getting married next year!
How He Asked: Zac and I were in Lancaster City and went to Pottery Works (a place where you can paint various ceramic pieces) and he knows it’s my favorite place to go. We were both painting mugs and I was paying absolutely no attention to what he was doing. Then he pushed his mug over to me and said, “babe, do you think this looks okay?” I responded with, “just give me a minute to finish this”. Once I finished, I looked over at his mug, and it said will you marry me? I started crying while he stood up and pulled me up with him, hugged me, and then whispered, “Emily Paige, I love you with all my heart”. That’s when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and I obviously said yes. Boy, oh boy, I can’t wait to marry that man.
