Emily and Nick
How We Met
Nick and I met four years ago during spring break in Lake Havasu City, Arizona where we both live. I was having a girl’s night when my friend dragged me to this night club, Kokomos. She was meeting up with her now husband and his friends. I sat across from Nick and the first question I asked, “Is he old enough to be here?” Nick is lucky to have a baby face. We shared our first kiss that night.
How He Asked
We were having a date night just before Christmas season was in full effect. We decided to end the night with a walk under the London Bridge to admire their Christmas light display. When we got to the end I was just about to ask him if he wanted to turn around, when out of this dainty shop my oldest nephew came running out with a red rose. I immediately knew what was about to happen and began to cry. Following my nephew was my niece, then my youngest nephew, and ended with my best friend’s son leading my niece with the final rose. My family is the most important thing in the world to me; my nieces and nephews have been my life, they were the first to show me what true love meant and they were part of the most perfect proposal. Nick began to walk away and I started to follow when I saw him grab a white rose from a near by rock. He walked back and told me, “Each red rose represents a year spent together, this white rose represents our future together.” He then got on one knee and asked, “Emily Lang will you spend the rest of your life with me.” I heard cheers from all around and as we began to hug and the Santa interrupted us I noticed that our entire family had been on top of the bridge watching. He had included our family and friends who walked down cheering and celebrating. With each new hug I saw a new face and was so overwhelmed with the thoughtfulness and love that went into this proposal. The proposal was perfect, the ring is perfect, and my now fiance is pretty darn perfect too!
