Elizabeth and Ryan
How We Met
I met Ryan in high school when we were in ninth grade. We shared world history class and gym class. We instantly became friends, having easy conversation and having so much in common. We always had a shared sense of humor, and he always was able to make me laugh. We were friends for a long time before we ever thought about dating. I moved away after that year, the both of us barely keeping in touch. I ended up moving back home after that year and then dated someone else for a while. Ryan and I decided to go on a real date for the first time in February of 2012. After our first date, I knew he was special. We decided to officially become a couple soon after and have experienced so much together since then. I thought he was the most genuine, kind-hearted person I’d ever met, and I could always rely on our friendship. Since high school graduation, he moved back to our hometown where we graduated from the same college, in 2017. His patience and love for me is truly a blessing.
How He Asked
After Christmas shopping, Ryan said he had a surprise for me. He took me to an amazing lights show that gets put up every year with over 350,000 lights. We had never seen anything like this together before. We walked around, looking at all the sparkling archways and decorations. We drank hot cocoa next to the cozy fire pit. After looking up under the 42 ft Christmas light tree, we posed under an archway for a picture. To my shock and amazement, Ryan got down on one knee, eyes sparkling as bright as the beautiful ring he opened and asked me (with my whole name) “will you marry me?”
I couldn’t stop crying long enough to respond, but finally said YES! I had no idea. My ring was perfect. It is a BEAUTIFUL rose gold halo with twisted diamond and rose gold shanks. Our engagement was definitely amazing!
