Diana and Colin | Boston Public Garden Proposal
How We Met: Colin and I met in college. He was a senior and I was a sophomore. I had always admired him from afar because I heard he had a girlfriend and never thought in a million years the cool senior would be into the tiny sophomore. During a school trip to St. Thomas, I finally worked up a little bit of courage (might have been liquid courage) and walked over and started talking to him. We talked all night and ended up leaving the bar and going for a walk by ourselves. At the end of the night, I leaned in for a kiss and he kissed me on the forehead. I knew right then and there I was in love.
How He Asked: During the first year of our relationship, Colin took me on a walk through the Boston Public Garden, a place in the Boston I had never been, it had started to rain and he hopped over a small fence and picked me a flower from a monument garden and we kissed in the rain. It is one of our most romantic and cherished memories. Then 6 years later, we made dinner reservations at a hotel right off of the Public Garden. We walked through the Garden to get to dinner and when we passed the spot he asked me if I remembered that day and he told me how much he loved me and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. Before I could catch my breath he was on his knee holding the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen! As if they wasn’t enough, he hired a photographer to capture it all!
