Dani and Michael

Dani and Michael's Engagement in Mendenhall Glacier in Alaska

How We Met

Michael and I met after college. We both graduated from Texas A&M and were at the same places in college but never knew it. He contacted me on Facebook one day and the next thing I knew, he was driving down to Austin from Midland to eat lunch with me during my lunch break. After we started to date, we knew that the other was who the Lord had for us. It was so very clear that this was the person I had been praying for my whole life. After moving to Midland, we planned an Alaskan cruise together. Previously to the cruise, I had told Michael I wanted the proposal to be a surprise and I wanted pictures. I wanted him to propose on the cruise so bad, but he reassured me it wouldn’t happen. On our second day of the cruise, we took a helicopter ride to Mendenhall Glacier. Once we landed on the glacier we did a short twenty minute tour. Michael hates taking pictures but after the tour guide announced that the helicopter would be coming back, Michael asked if we could take a couple more pictures. I was shocked and obliged. We took a couple of normal pictures and then then the next thing I knew, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. It was such a sweet moment and I can not wait to marry this amazing man that the Lord has blessed me with!
