Dallas and Ty
How We Met
I met Ty when I was twenty. I had just gotten out of a bad relationship and wasn’t really looking to start a new one anytime soon. Once he first showed interest in me I didn’t think much would come from it and just shrugged it off.
He began persisting to take me out on a date but I was hesitant. After a few weeks I finally gave in and agreed. He told me he wanted to take me hiking at a local trail, something he was into and I necessarily was not. I was crazy enough to agree.
How He Asked
It was New Years Eve and Ty had rented a cabin for us and our closest family and friends for the holiday. When he first told me about the trip I questioned why but he told me he wanted to start a tradition to bring our families together during the holidays. I thought it was a great idea! We had a great weekend at the cabin with all twenty two of us- I didn’t think it could get any better but I was so wrong. New Years Eve night was going as planned- everyone gathered in the living room just in time to watch the ball drop. I was turned around counting down with the TV… “5, 4, 3, 2, 1..” I turned around and gave Ty a New Years Kiss. Once he pulled away he began to get on one knee- my heart skipped two beats and tears started forming in my eyes. After some of the sweetest words he asked me if I would spend the rest of my life with him and I screamed “YES!”
Our families had Champagne and personalized glasses waiting for us by the time I turned back around. It was by far the greatest night of my life.
