Clarissa and Andrew

How We Met

Andrew and I had mutual friends at school. He seemed to always have a girlfriend when I liked him. Then, come to find out, he liked me too (even when he had said girlfriend). He and his girlfriend broke up, and then a few weeks later, we watched scary movies together on Halloween, and then stayed up talking for hours that night, outside in the cold and rain, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

How He Asked

Both Andrew and I are singers, and we had our senior recital planned, and we decided to do it together. Our voice teacher always double checked that we were still together before scheduling it, too bad neither of us knew what was in store that night. All my family and friends came, like I had hoped. Then, after our encore, Andrew started to sing the first duet we had ever sang together, “All I Ask of You”, from Phantom of the Opera. I thought I knew what was happening, but I didn’t want to get my hopes up (he had told me a few days before that the proposal was still a few months away). As he sang, some guys from our choir came down the aisle, each holding a bouquet of flowers and stood around the stage. Right as he got to the part: “Christine, that’s all I ask of you,” is when Andrew got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! Of course I said yes, and then come to find out, everyone at the concert knew it was going to happen!! It was the most magical moment of my life.
