Christina and Jon; Proposal at Disney
How we met: It was my last year in high school and I was ready to move on to bigger and better things. But little did I know the biggest “thing” in my life sat across from me in my English class. It wasn’t until I was “fresh on the market” that I actually made a move but I had noticed her smile from the first day of class. Christina sat across from me and I had no idea how to talk to her, so I had her friend who sat next to me tell Christina how gorgeous of a smile she has. To this day that was one of the most rewarding and smartest things I have ever done.
Christina’s Side of the proposal: We had planed to attend Disneyland for our eight year anniversary. He mentioned that his friend, Jaime Davis, was going to be in Disneyland and needed a couple to photograph for her photography business. I was astonished that he agreed to be photographed but I did not question his sudden interested. I was thrilled that he was finally getting over his reluctancy to be photographed.
Once embarked on the Mark Twain Riverboat he got on his knee and gave me the ring of my dreams. I was shocked when he proposed because we had discussed marriage, but we agreed that it was not the right time. In reality, I wanted nothing more than to be by his side day and night. I cried the instant he got on his knee because my dream was finally becoming a reality. He is not only my love, but my best friend. These eight years I have shared with Jonathan have been truly magical. He is an amazing person, and I am blessed to have him by my side. As each day passes by I fall more deeply in love with him. I can not wait to call him my Husband.
Jon’s Side: Eight years after high school, Christina and I were ready to celebrate a special yet ordinary anniversary. So she thought. After months of shopping for the perfect ring, I knew this was the time to pop the question. Little did Christina know I had started to set up the proposal years before. We are avid Disney goers so I had taken the time to let her know that I thought a proposal at Disney was beyond corny. With this idea planted in her mind years ago, I knew it was the perfect place to surprise her. With the help of Jaime our photographer and a few Disney cast members I was able to successfully engage my life long partner on the bow of the Mark Twain.
