Chris and Danni
How We Met
On 19th November 2016 – I swiped right on Tinder to a gorgeous English man and we matched. Yup, we met on the worlds most popular dating app. We started texting straight away for hours and had loads in common. On the 22nd November, he took me to dinner on our first date – he picked me up and was a true gentleman. I knew I’d found a goodie straight away. The rest is history.
How He Asked
We came to Queenstown last year in September and absolutely fell in love with it. For our first anniversary in January Chris brought me a trip back to Queenstown as a gift. Little did I know he’d been planning the ring from Partridge Jewellers in Queenstown since October. We found out in December I was pregnant as well. We arrived in Queenstown on Wednesday the 25th April and Chris told me he had a work meeting quickly so he’d booked me a massage. I didn’t think anything of it – now I know there was no meeting for work – he was meeting the jeweler.
So 5 months pregnant on Thursday 26th April we were booked to do a Milford sound tour with a helicopter landing on a Glacier. It was canceled due to bad weather so Chris spoke with reception and decided we would do a hike up to the top of Queenstown Hill Walkway instead. It took us forever because I kept getting puffed out and having to rest. Along the way, I kept asking Chris if we had to go to the top and he was very insistent.
We reached the top and the view over Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu was gorgeous. We took some pictures and Chris asked me to sit on the rock looking out over the view for a photo. After about 30 seconds I was wondering what was going on. Chris coughed so I turned around – and there he was on one knee. He made the most beautiful speech and it was like a fairytale. Yes was always going to be my answer.
