Cheyenne and Jeremy
How We Met
We met through a mutual friendship very briefly in May of 2015, soon after we met I moved away to Texas. About 2 weeks after I moved Jeremy deployed to Cuba, while he was there we talked as frequently as possible. Since we had the long distance relationship we got to know each other on a more personal level. I got to know what he loves and how to tell the different tones in his voice. There was no pressure to look nice or how to carry myself as a lady; I could just be myself. I was there for him when he needed someone to talk to, we are best friends. August of 2015 we finally got to spend time together and I knew right away Jeremy was the one I am meant to be with for the rest of my life.
How He Asked
After our short visit in August he went back to Virginia where he is stationed. Fast forward to November of 2015 I finally got to visit him! Although things weren’t going as planned at the airport with delayed flights, I was so anxious to get to my final destination I didn’t even care.
We had such an incredible time together. The visit was based around the annual Marine Corp Ball, Jeremy actually asked me to be his date when we first started talking; so this was something that had been in the works for so long. Our day got off to a rough start for the ball with a bad haircut on his side of it and my hair ended up like in springy curls like Shirley Temple. It made for a good laugh after the fact we remained optimistic because we were together, we were enjoying the moment as it happened.
As we were headed out the door to the venue he took my hand and breathed a sigh, he couldn’t hold it in any longer. Taking to one knee he asked me to be his forever. I couldn’t even breathe I said yes and the rest is history
Although the visit was short I am eagerly waiting to see him again in June! Our relationship might be long distance right now due to deployments but it’s all worth it in the end. This man is who I will spend the rest of my life with and I will do anything for him.
Wherever you go I go, Home is wherever you are.
