How We Met
It all started almost 3 years ago when we were both living in the city of San Francisco working long hours & had no time for outside activities-let alone dating, so we both created an OkCupid account. Now the funny part is my now fiance had been on OkCupid prior to me signing up. He was actually talking to my roommate at the time. They were trying to set up a time to meet together, but their schedules were not aligning. One day, while I was off from work I decided to create an account as well just to see “what could happen.” I left town for the weekend and had no service. Well…when I returned from my trip and received service there was a message from Dan (my now fiance). I didn’t know what to do! I knew he was talking to my roommate, but he was pretty darn cute & seemed to be the whole package! So, fast forward in time-we talked online a little, he asked me out, I spoke with my roommate prior to going out with him & she encouraged me to go! Our first date was at a bar in SF and then we went on a LONG walk around the neighborhood of Haight Ashbury. It was so easy to talk to him…fast forward in time and here we are about to get married! Here are a few photos from some of our many travel adventures together.
How He Asked
So, now you ask, how did he propose? Well, a big part of our relationship has been about traveling -especially to San Diego (my home town). I was on a girls trip in San Diego with my mom, his sister & his mom and little did I know he had a whole day planned out to propose to me while I was on that trip. Us four girls went wine tasting in Temecula at winery #1. We took our sweet time & then meandered to the next winery-nothing out of the ordinary. At winery 2 (Lorimar winery) we were doing a “barrel room tour.” You guessed it! This was no average tour. We arrived to the barrel room & I turned the corner & Dan was standing there with a rose for me. He took me, walked my down the cutest pathway to an archway, got down on one knee & asked me to marry him :) We celebrated then headed to winery 3, where yet again another surprise! He had my dad, his dad and his brother in law fly in.They were sitting at table at the 3rd winery! Again, we celebrated then headed to winery #4..surprise! All my friends were at the fourth winery! It was such a fun day! We ended the night by going out dancing the night away with some of our closest friends!
