Chelsea and Brandon

How We Met

It was the night of October 12, 2013 and I was working at Gas Monkey Bar & Grill in Dallas, TX (Based off the TV Show).  I was waitressing the V.I.P area that night due to a big concert we were having.  My co-worker and friend Ryan brought a group of his friends to the concert and I ended up getting them a spot in V.I.P to watch the show.  About an hour into the concert I pulled my fellow co-worker aside (April) who was also the girlfriend of Ryan and I said “I want the cutie in the green shirt phone number”.  April proceeded to tell “the cutie in the green” how I wanted his phone number and that I thought he was “hot stuff”. The cutie in the green was Brandon and I finally muffed up the courage to get him a drink and continued to take care of him through the end of the concert.  When the concert ended Brandon came into the V.I.P room to pay his tab with the rest of his friends.  Brandon proceeded to hand me cash for his drinks and thats when his business card fell from the pile of cash onto the bar.  I laughed and told him “I’ll text you sometime”.  Well little did I know I could not stop thinking about him so the very NEXT MORNING while I was at work I texted him “Hey its Chelsea from last night, remember me?” October 13, 2013 is when we started hanging out and from then on we were inseparable, we spent every minute we could together and finally 6 months later I moved in with him and from there its history.

How He Asked

May 28, 2016 was the day of Brandon’s big charity car show at his performance shop BSP Motorsports. We had been planning this event for months.  The car show was to support the military charity “The Semper Fi Fund” we had raffles, giveaways and were collecting donations for this amazing charity. The day before the event  Brandon insisted that I get my nails done because since I was going to be dealing with a ton of people he wanted my hands to look pretty (mind you I have told Brandon since we first got together if you are going to propose PLEASE MAKE SURE MY NAILS ARE DONE). It was the morning of the event and we were all running around trying to make everything perfect before cars started to arrive.  We started doing raffles around 12 pm and my title was “ticket picker” so I had the honor of pulling the winning tickets from the massive cauldron we had. Brandon and I invited both of our families and a ton of friends to the car show.  My entire family came out to support Brandon and this special day and I could not stop thinking “wow my family really loves Brandon” because they drove over an hour to be here, little did I know they were there because he was going to propose (no wonder he was avoiding me most of the day).  It was 3:30 in the afternoon and the MC announced over the speakers that BSP Motorsports has donated a surprise box into the raffle and you won’t know what you won until you open it. Suddenly, it seemed as if the ENTIRE car show had made a circle around the MC, myself and Brandon to give away this “mystery box” and once again I thought “wow, must be a cool prize in this box”. So I scurried to the garage to grab a ticket and handed it to the MC the MC then called out ticket number *512407* he proceeded to call out this ticket number 3 times. Brandon finally came up to me and said “Babe, maybe you should check your tickets”.  I checked my tickets and sure enough the VERY FIRST ticket on my strand of tickets was ticket number *512407* my hands started to sweat and I started to get a little weak in the knees.  I was then presented with a box that I opened to find another box, inside another box inside yet another box and this continued on for at least 8 boxes. I got to the tiniest box and Brandon said “Here let me help you with this” he cut open the box and inside was a small wooden box. Brandon then proceeded to get down on one knee and asked me to marry him in front of all of our friends, family and guest at the car show and of course “I SAID YES”.  Brandon had seamlessly planned out the most beautiful and meaningful proposal ever and it absolutely took my breath away. After champagne was had I asked what it felt like every person I ran into “DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS ?” and everyone’s answer was OF COURSE that’s why we are here.  It was a day I will never forget and I am so blessed to have a man who took the time to pop the question in the very way I had imagined my whole life surrounded by friends, family and so many loved ones.
