Cassie and Chris' Proposal at Lake Arrowhead

How We Met

I met Christopher working as a host in a restaurant in downtown san diego. He was a server and neither one of us was expecting to have a relationship outside of work. We sowly started talking more outside of work and decided to see where it went. 2.5 years later and we are engaged!

How He Asked

My boyfriend and I were finally taking a small vacation to lake arrowhead to relax. It was a graduation gift from his parents and we were so excited because we have never been. We arrived and got settled into our room before deciding to look around the resort. The view from our balcony took us both surprise as it overlooked a huge deck over the lake. We had just a couple hours before we were meeting with the photographer to take some pictures. Chris set up a hour session with a local photographer because we have no nice pictures, and thought this would be a perfect location. After walking the resort and having a drink it was time to get ready. We met the photographer in the lobby and right when Chris stood up i noticed his black socks didn’t match his outfit of choice which was unusual for him, but I didn’t question it. We started by the pool taking pictures and moved to various locations throughout the resort for the full hour.

Towards the end of the session just as the sun was getting ready to set we walked over to the deck that overlooked the lake. After a couple snaps of the camera the photographer gor silent and Chris looked at me. He told me that he loved me and I told him I loved him too. He then followed with forever? And I said of course. It was at that moment I realized what was going on as he got down on one knee and pulled the ring out of his sock. With tears strolling down my face, he looked up at me and asked me to marry him. I of course said yes, and the restaurant above us began cheering and clapping. I was in shock the rest of the trip and still can’t believe I am going to marry my best friend.
