Caroline and Preston

How We Met

Preston and I are both from Johnson City, TN and we attended the same high school, but Preston graduated one year ahead of me. We met his senior year of high school, my junior year, through mutual friends on a snowboarding trip, on Valentine’s Day of 2013 (what a day to meet the love of your life haha). We dated for a little over 4 years before he finally asked me to spend forever with him and it felt like a long time coming.

How He Asked

Preston told me that he would propose sometime before the summer was over and I had a feeling it would be on this trip since everything was perfectly falling into place. I had told him it was important to me that both of our families could be there with us to celebrate afterword.

He planned it all out and proposed to me on the Terrace Garden at the Sanctuary on Kiawah Island and it was a wonderful added bonus that my best girlfriends from college drove down to celebrate with all of us as well!

I had been hinting for a while that I wanted him to propose to me and he finally told me I could go look at rings, I of course took right to this and eagerly went from jeweler to jeweler picking out a ring. My ring came from a local jeweler in Johnson City and the jeweler’s name is Chris Jordan. I picked out my engagement ring and Preston made the final touches to it. It is an oval solitaire in a white gold setting and I absolutely adore it!

Now, my mom, Kelly, is already planning away and we have booked the Lawn at the Sanctuary for May 26, 2018, Memorial Day weekend. Overall, I could not have asked for a more perfect engagement story and I’m so grateful that I will be able to look back at these pictures and remember this day forever!!!

Special Thanks
