Carlee and Randy
How We Met
Randomly one night, I was bored and flipping through tinder; like most college girls my age. While swiping, I noticed a guy who looked familiar… the quarterback from my rival high school. I never met this guy but I always thought he was cute! So I took my chances and swiped right. Match! Blushing a bit and feeling excited, I thought about sending him a message. While trying to come up with something clever to say, I received a message from him! After chatting a bit on tinder, I told him to text me and nervously gave him my number. We started texting and found out that he was moving to my college town because he just got a job with the city police department. I knew he wouldn’t know anyone in town so I told him we could hang out and I’d introduce him to my friends. We hung out the first night and watched Nacho Libre on separate couches, very romantic. I couldn’t stop looking at how handsome he was. I knew at that moment that I was definitely NOT introducing him to any of my friends, sorry girls. I wanted him to be mine and after that night he told me the same thing. The next few months were so much fun and he surprised me with a bracelet and asked me to be his girlfriend. Two years later, he surprised me with a ring and asked me to be his wife.
How He Asked
Photography is something I have always been interested in but never was able to get started. Randy, always wanting me to do the things I talk about, set up a one on one lesson with a photographer and she was going to show me how to use her camera. I was like, ‘Woah! This is gonna be so much fun!’ Most people ask “well didn’t you know it was coming?” and the truth is, I had a hunch. After he told me about the plans, I immediately went to my friend and told her “I think he is going to propose! I need to get my nails done and buy a new outfit!” I went through the week testing him about our plans with the photographer in hopes that he would crack or let it slip. By the time Friday came, he was acting so normal that I was convinced that there was not a secret engagement and that he was truly just being the nice guy he is and planned something sweet for me. So on Sunday afternoon we met up with the photographers for the lesson. The photographers were absolutely great. They showed me how to pose couples (as they took our photos), they showed me how to use their cameras and even let me take a few pictures of Randy. I thought that if this was a secret engagement, that it would have happened in the first round of photos, but it didn’t. We were about to wrap up and I was even more convinced that I made the whole thing up in my head, typical, until the photographer said the key word. He knew it was time to get down on one knee and ask me to be his forever. I was genuinely so surprised and the photographers got it all on camera and video! It was truly a magical moment that we shared and we will get to cherish the photos and video forever!
