Cara and Andreas
How We Met
Andreas and I met our freshman year of high school. We became best friends and every single year we had a class and sat next to each other! All of our friends would always tell us that we should date because our personalities went so well together, but being “just friends” we would roll our eyes and laugh. He once told me a girl was going to ask him to the dance and all of a sudden I felt jealous.. And that’s when I knew I really had a crush on him! He had asked me to Prom and my feelings just kept growing after that. We never hung out with each other outside of school, it was only during class, so when we graduated high school I had this pit in my stomach thinking I was never going to see him again. Me and my friends were all going to Havasu as a graduation trip and at the last minute my friend invited him to go! During that trip I found myself falling for him so hard, and on the last night we were there, we held hands and we’ve been glued ever since!
How He Asked
Andreas got the ring months before and even asked my parents for their approval, also taking them to help with the ring! Which is crazy because I usually figure out all of his secrets but I had no idea about any of this! Every year we take a family trip up to Big Bear. Before we left Andreas gave me his wallet and told me to go get my nails done, which is one of my favorite things to do! The day after we arrived, his brother’s boyfriend told me to “look cute today” because he told me we’re going to take some pictures in the snow. My luck, out of all days, my blow dryer broke! But thankfully someone had a flat iron; which I hadn’t used on my hair since I was in middle school! Andreas, his dad, and brothers told me they were going to walk down to the store to get some water. But really they went to go set everything up! They came back and everyone got in the car because we were going to go sledding, so I thought.. We get to the place we usually go to and his brother’s boyfriend asked to borrow my camera to take some pictures of us! I didn’t think anything of it because we always do that for one another. As we start walking up his family said they were going to watch us sled first. I really actually thought we were going sledding, so much so that I almost walked passed his sign! But all of a sudden I hear, “babe what does that say?” & I turn to find “Will You Marry Me” written with pine cones! I immediately turn around to find him on one knee. I couldn’t stop crying after that but eventually I found my words to say “Yes!”
