Caitlin and Ryan
How We Met
As modern love stories go, Ryan and I met through a dating app called Hinge. In December 2015 we met for dinner at a restaurant in our shared neighborhood, German Village in Columbus, OH. Despite my shy silence throughout most of the meal, he decided to take me out again, invite me to Nashville for New Years with him and his friends, and four months later, invite me to share his new house. We’ve since invited a puppy to share our home, and built a beautiful life together with amazing friends and family surrounding us.
How He Asked
Sharing holidays across our two families led us to spend Thanksgiving in Las Vegas with mine this year. We got in town Tuesday morning and Ryan was insistent we head up to Red Rocks Canyon for a hike. On the way up we stopped to get some beers and a mini bottle of champagne (which I thought would be used to celebrate surviving the climb.. I was wrong). We reached the top of our climb and found a spot to enjoy our drinks and take a few photos. Ryan had brought his GoPro and claimed to be setting it up to take a timed picture of the two of us. Much to my surprise, he came back to where I was standing with a little blue box in his hand and asked me to marry him – all on video! I obviously said yes and we are over the moon with excitement. This man never ceases to amaze and delight me, and I couldn’t be happier to spend the rest of our lives together.
