Brittany and Scott

How We Met

We met in college at the end of my freshman year, Scotts sophomore year. We were both on the Marquette rowing team and became the best of friends quickly. I thought, well this guy is pretty cool. It was weird because I was never one of those girls comfortable having guy friends… It was weird. But Scott was so easy to talk to. He is a great listener. And we laugh all the time! My mom said she knew he was something special to me when we ran into him on campus my sophomore year. Now, both Scotty and I are extremely stubborn so it took us a while to figure out what we actually meant to each other. But eventually best friends turned into some thing more. We didn’t become more than that until senior year of college and I guess the rest is history!

How He Asked

My dream wedding is at the Pilot House at Discovery World in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It’s literally perfect! I went to the lake all the time in college. It was the place to clear my head and collect my thoughts. But it’s wayyy over our budget and we know that. We came into town to see the Amy Schumer show and Scott surprised me with a tour of he Discovery World venue. He didn’t tell me until we were on our way there after leaving the hotel. I was fuming! It was a waste of time. We love it, we just can’t afford it. Immediately I was cranky. We got there and the front desk man was trying to talk to me about DJs and lighting and I wasn’t having it. The special events lady gave us a wonderful tour of the aquarium and the venue. She left us to watch the sunset over the lake in the Pilot House. Much to my surprise, Die A Happy Man by Thomas Rhett came on over the speakers and he asked me to dance. Towards the end of the song he pushed me back got down on one knee and said,”Brittany will you marry me?” Of course “yessss!!” One of our best friends was there to help document the moment. My entire family knew and I was completely surprised! It was perfect!
