Brianna and Stephen
How We Met
Steve and I went to the same high school, so I guess you could say we are high school sweethearts. I remember when I first saw him, I was in grade 9 and he was in grade 10. I literally fumbled over my feet in the hall when he walked passed me.
I remember going all red in the face when my friend called him over to say hi, I was so scared he would be able to see that I had completely fallen for him and I didn’t even know his name! So, naturally I ignored him and looked at anything but him.
For me it was love at first sight <3 I would see him in the halls sometimes and he would see me. He would give me this cocky little smirk that had me week in the knees and made me blush. He definitely loved to torture me because he figured out how i felt.
I would sometimes even do an about turn and walk the other way because I knew I’d make a fool of myself by blushing like a love sick puppy. Steve and I didn’t actually meet until he was in grade 12 and I was in grade 11.
He used to pick me up for school in his BMW, and i remember feeling so giddy with joy that he liked me the same way I did him. We’ve been together 7 years now and it has definitely been one hell of a roller coaster ride haha.
He’s my partner in crime in life and the only man I’ve ever loved. He stole my heart the day I laid eyes on him, and he never lets me forget it.
How He Asked
Steve usually takes me to places I’ve never been all the time, so I thought nothing odd about him taking me to lighthouse park in northvan. I actually didn’t want to go because I wanted to go see the new suicide squad movie, but he was adamant about going to a new place. So, I caved but not without a fight about who controlled the music during our drive haha.
We got stuck in crazy traffic and I said to Steve “are you sure this place is really worth it?” He looked completely through me with the most hopeful face I’ve ever seen and said “I hope so..”.
We brought our dog for the beautiful walk down to the ocean side and the view was breathtaking. I was wearing his hoody to keep me warm and we snuggled up on a rock together and just enjoyed the view.
As we sat beside each other in complete comfort, I realized how much I actually loved this guy. He accepted me for all my silliness and weirdness and still thought I was the most beautiful girl he’d even seen.
It wasn’t until Steve started to shake that I realized something was funky here, and lead me towards a different big rock. I thought he was just cold, or he drank too much coffee.
He wanted me to take a picture with me looking at Vancouver city and I remember thinking how horrible he is at taking pictures and how it wouldn’t turn out nice haha but I humoured him.
Once he said he was done I turned around to find him down on one knee with the most beautiful ring I had ever seen.
He said “Brianna Ashley Bell, will you marry me and spend the rest of your life with me?” It all went by so fast and the only thing I could do was cry and nod my head yes. We kissed and hugged and next thing I knew he told me he hired a photographer to capture the most precious moment of our lives.
That was the day i fell in love with Steve all over again.
