Brianna and Anthony

How We Met

Anthony and I had actually met more than once before we hit it off! Every year on his aunt’s birthday, we would meet due to her birthday dinner. I was best friend’s with his aunt, so therefore we were always around each other during events like this. On the 3rd final time of “meeting”, we decided it would be a lot of fun to go line dancing together… we literally have not been since we mentioned this! HA! But, regardless it was INSTANT sparks…I kept catching someone looking at me out of the corner of my eye, and sure enough, it was Anthony.

Once we exchanged numbers, and followed one another on social media, we decided to go out on a date. Our first “date” was Chevy’s on the River, in Sacramento, CA. We ordered the exact same drink, and meal. Talk about weird. We were both so extremely shy, that it was almost like “where is this going?” Will I see you again? Well, we decided to meet up with some of my friends in downtown Sacramento, and once we loosened up a bit, (liquid courage), things started flowing much easier, and we hit it off! Literally, from that night on, we’ve been inseparable. The rest is literal history.

Brianna's Proposal in Kauai, HI

How He Asked

We were on a family trip to Kauai, HI for his families birthdays. The big 50th & 70th. It was mother’s day after being in Kauai for almost a week, it was our day to do “nothing” but relax, and hang out. The family planned on going to the city to check out the shops, restaurants, all that jazz. His mom asked us if we wanted to go, me being oblivious, wanted to go even after Anthony mentioned to her that we were going to be staying behind and having lunch on the beach. I’m so thankful I stayed back with him and didn’t push him to go into the city. I was helping him make us lunch and then he left to go to the “restroom” and called me from the backyard to come out there with the lunch. I awkwardly walked back there, I was very nervous, starting to shake, and everything!

I went back there, set the lunch down and then Anthony grabbed my hands and was CLEARLY nervous, which made me tear up! He was expressing his love for me and telling me how much he can’t wait to make me his wife, and mother of his children. Anthony is 100000% not an emotional person AT ALL, and he was fighting back tears which made me cry because I’m so emotional (for the both of us)! It truly was my dream come true, something so simple, on a BEAUTIFUL island, and just the 2 of us. He then called my Dad and told him the news, which made my dad cry! And then the rest of the family. I am so thankful for marrying the love of my life!
