Brandi and Justin
How We Met
Justin and I actually met on eharmony, a dating website. I have lived in my city my whole life and knew everybody and he moved here for his job and ultimately didn’t know anybody. We were paired with each other. He sent me the first message and I instantly fell in love with his personality. After about 2 weeks of chatting through Eharmony, he asked me out for our first date. We went to Olive Garden the week before Valentine’s Day since we didn’t want to put too much pressure on the situation. When I walked up to the restaurant, he looked very nervous. We talked about the “normal stuff” on the first date, trying to get to know each other. It wasn’t until weeks later that he started showing his true personality and that is when I instantly knew that he was the one.
How He Asked
Justin asked that we spend the weekend away just the two of us, leaving my daughter at home with her grandparents. We kind of just picked a spot on the map and made reservations. We ended up going to Chattanooga, TN, for the weekend. We left Friday after both of us got off of work and headed out. Once at the hotel, I realized I left my ID at home (hours away!). So the weekend started out terrible because we weren’t able to go out kid-free and enjoy our late 20’s. We ended up spending a peaceful evening walking around the city and over the walking bridge in downtown. The night sky was beautiful and air crisp. The next day, we did a little more site-seeing and went to Rock City. We walked through mountains and really tight spaces up to the top of the mountain where you can see 7 different states. I didn’t really look that hard as I am terrified of heights. On our journey to see the waterfall right below the top of the mountain, we stopped right in front of the waterfall and he just stood there. He waited for everyone to clear the area, he waited and waited and waited. I took one last look at the scenery before deciding to move on. When I turned back around to keep going down the trail, there he was. Down on one knee. I honestly couldn’t tell you what he said. I didn’t hear a word of it. I wasn’t even sure if I said “yes” out loud. But of course the answer was YES!
