Braden and Leah
How We Met
My name is Braden Renfro and I am so excited because I just got engaged to the woman of my dreams, Leah Smith! We went to school together from kindergarten to senior year at Christian Academy of Indiana.
Now you’re probably think oh this is a high school sweet heart story, not quite. Even though we knew each other we never really talked to each other or hung out until Leah couldn’t figure out how to download her multimedia project onto her flashdrive (she’s not the best with technology). She knew that I made videos and was good with computers so she asked me at school to meet her at Kolkin Coffee to download the video. We met that Sunday, 21 February 2016.
She handed me her computer and told me what she needed me to do. Leah had a book with her and after explaining what she needed she started to read again. I tried to strike up a conversation and ask her about what she was reading. She was reading Love Does by Bob Goff. Leah excitedly started to talk about the book and why she loved it so much. We then got on the topic of what we wanted to do with our lives. She told me that she wanted to be a nurse and do local mission work. She said she didn’t know what that looked like just yet but that she just wanted to help other people and show Jesus’ love. And as I was sitting there I realized what an amazing and beautiful girl she is.
And I just kept asking her out for coffee.
2 years later after graduating, Leah getting into nursing school, and starting my job at Cornerstone Church I asked Leah Victoria Smith to marry me.
How He Asked
So our friend Cody Tevis is in school at IUS. He is studying videography and media, so I had him call and ask our help for a school project. This Project was going to be our “love story” from beginning to end. So I had Cody call and ask and Leah perfectly went right along with our plan!
So Cody and I fount this bridge at a place called mount Saint Francis, it was perfect. So I bought tons of lights and candles to really deck the bridge out and make it “pinterest approved.” So I have to thank our friends Garret, Bayley, Andrew and Shay for helping this dream come to a reality.
So after a full day of filming our love story we finally got to Mount Saint francis and we filmed a little in some of the fields and honestly we got some of the best video shots I’ve ever seen!
So we finally got to the bridge and Leah still had no clue what was going on.
I had bought rose pedals for her to throw up in the air as she turned around to see me on one knee and the moment was literally breathtaking.
So she said yes and now we plan on getting married sometime in the fall of 2018! And I
still count myself the luckiest guy alive every single day!
