Blake and Ruby
How We Met
Blake and I met in August 2015. It just so happened that both of our lives lead us to working together at TopGolf in Colorado when it opened. We very quickly became friends. I was going through a lot when I started working there, and Blake never failed to keep a smile on my face. I didn’t know he had a crush on me, and he didn’t know what a light he was in my life. A group of our friends started hanging out and we would both go, always making sure we were sitting next to each other and laughing together. I got the guts to send him a cute funny video on Facebook messenger I thought he’d like, and we spent the next few weeks staying up all night, laughing and getting to know each other, messaging non stop. It was clear to both of us very early on that we were meant for each other. Finally one day I brought him his favorite sweet tea after work, and we’ve been inseparable ever since.
How He Asked
When Blake and I started dating, one of our favorite things to do was go to Rockies games together. During one of those games, the Rockies were down with the bases loaded and one of our favorite players was up to bat. Blake turned to me and said “if CarGo hits a grand slam, I’ll marry you today!” I said okay! Well first pitch and wham! The ball went soaring into the stands! We couldn’t believe it! It felt very surreal to both of us, like just another sign we were meant to be together!
Five months later Blake told me were going to lunch with his brother in Denver. When we were walking to the restaurant he pulled me to the side and put a blindfold on me. He walked me a few blocks and I had no idea where we were. After what seemed like a very long time, He carried me down some stairs and finally took my blindfold off. I opened my eyes and we were by ourselves in Coors Field standing right in the very seats we were in at that game 5 months before. He sat me down and a clip and the audio of the grand slam started playing on the jumbo-tron before he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. Of course I said yes! It couldn’t have been a more perfect and surreal moment! He is amazing!
A huge thank you to some friends I have at #CoorsField for making this all possible! Well... for those of you who would like to watch how it all went down... here it is! Love you Ruby Stewart!!! #Cargo5 #ColoradoRockies #rockies Colorado RockiesPosted by Blake Coulter on Friday, December 2, 2016
