Baseball-Themed Proposal

How we met: We only met once through mutual friends. 4 years later she came into my work and I recognized her but couldn’t remember why. A few days later I bumped into her at a local smoothie place, we chatted and tried to figure out how we knew each other. Later that week she returned to my work and told me she figured out how we knew each other. I gave her my number before she left and things went on from there.

How he asked: The two things that Katie and I both love and our passionate about is our son and baseball. In fact, we’ve always talked about visiting all of the Major League Baseball stadiums and our trip to New York was part of making that reality. I wanted a proposal that involved both of our passions and that was private and captured the true essence of New York. I hired Proposal Planners, The Heart Bandits to help create a proposal that would truly speak to Katie. I rented out a terrace with an amazing view of the city and as soon as Katie and I walked off the elevator, there was a path of her favorite flowers, gerbera daisies in small vases creating a path.

The path lead Katie to a small table with two chairs next to it. On top of the table was a book and as she got closer she realized it was a baseball card binder. On top of the binder it said “QT and Pretty Head”, our nicknames. She opened the book and saw custom-made baseball cards and on the cards were pictures of us throughout our relationship including pictures of our son. There were also “stats” about our relationship on the cards to resemble real baseball cards. Our son’s card was a cute “rookie” card as well. The last page of the binder spelled out “Will You Marry Me?” in cards. I proposed to her and she said Yes!
