Autumn and Jared

InstaSize_2014_9 _ 154730How we met: The wonderful world of Facebook is to thank for me meeting my soon to be husband. Nothing exciting or romanitic about it, but that’s how it all began. Jared and I had mutual friends and he showed up as someone I might know. So I clicked “add friend”, sent him a message, and since then my life has been changed forever!

We spent the next few months getting to know each other, and basically he became my best friend. Six months later he asked me to be his girlfriend – (July 23rd, 2011).

At the time we started dating I was still in high school. I dated Jared through my senior year. We went to football games together, to homecoming together, and even to prom together. He sat in the stadium with my family the night I graduated high school. He was always there for the important moments, the moment’s that meant the most to me.

We have spent the past three of our lives growing together, working together, and trying to figure out our lives together. We have transformed from teenagers to young adults together.

Yes, we are young, and we still have a lot to learn about life, but there is no one I would rather learn about life with than my wonderful fiance.

Jared and I spent the week relaxing on the beach, swimming in the ocean, eating wayyy to much seafood, exploring Panama City, and we even worked up the courage to go parasailing together for the first time.

On our third day at the beach we celebrated our anniversary by watching the sun come up on the beach, we relaxed by the ocean all day, and dressed up to go out to dinner that night. After dinner we went back to the beach, right around sun-set, and walked hand in hand along the beach, with our feet in the wate, discussing what a great vacation we were having, and how happy we were. Of course I had suspicion in my mind that he may propose, but as the night got later, and the sky got darker, those ideas quickly faded. We had a great night laughing and spending time together. It was really a perfect day.

The next morning I was woke up around 5 a.m. by Jared asking if I wanted to go walk on the beach since we were leaving later that morning. So I got out of bed and we headed to the beach. It was such a beautiful morning. The sun was just starting to rise, there was no one in sight, and the sound of the waves crashing onto the silent beach just made everything seem so peaceful and romantic. We were holding hands, just walking along the water, talking about life. We were snapping pictures of the beautiful beach, taking selfies with the ocean behind us, and just being us, joking and laughing.

We started walking towards what I thought was just beach chairs, but before we reached the chairs we came to a stop. Right then my heart stopped, my mouth dropped, and in front of my I saw the words “MARRY ME?” In the sand. All I could think was “is this really happening”. All I could say was “Oh my Gosh”. Jared was shaking, and his voice was trembling. But somehow he managed to say the most sweetest words I have ever heard and then he got down on one knee and said “Autumn Mckensey Johnson, will you marry me?” It was the most amazing moment of my life. And of course I said yes! I had been dreaming of that moment for my whole life! It was better then I ever imagined and it was a moment I will never forget!
