Autumn and Brandon

Marriage Proposal Ideas in Naperville, IL (brides hometown)

How We Met

Brandon and met on July 4, 2013 at Illinois State University through mutual friends on the way to a pool party. The next day, a few of our friends were hanging out outside of Brandon’s apartment. I asked my best friend who Brandon was because I had never seen him before. We had a lot of fun that day as a group, but I didn’t see him again until school started in the fall.

That fall, our friends started hanging out more often, which led Brandon and I to become friends. At first, I didn’t think our relationship would be anything other than a friendship. My friends told me that Brandon had a crush on me, but I wasn’t too sure about that.

In October, Brandon asked me to be his date to one of his fraternity’s date nights. The date night consisted of tequila and& us being attached by the wrists& for hours. We had an absolute blast together & and I thought to myself hmmm, being stuck together with him is actually pretty great.

I quickly learned that Brandon is one of the sweetest, funniest,& most amazing people I have ever met. I feel like the luckiest girl ever to get to call him my future husband. I can’t wait to marry him on 4th of July weekend next year, 6 years from when we first met.

How He Asked

On March 3, 2018 Brandon and I were headed to my hometown to celebrate my mom’s birthday (or so I thought). Brandon suggested stopping downtown for lunch on the way to my parent’s house. It was an unusually beautiful day for March, so after lunch Brandon suggested we take a walk by the river. I’m usually the one who loves taking walks, but of course this one time I was giving him a little bit of a hard time!

While we were walking I saw a dog who looked exactly like my family dog, Murphy (anyone who knows me knows how obsessed I am with Murphy). A minute later, we approached a bridge to cross over the river and at the end of the bridge I see a dog that REALLY looked like Murphy. I was so confused…. why is my dog sitting at the end of the bridge by himself downtown?! and so calm…. he’s never calm. Well Murphy was calm because he knew he had an important job to do! He was holding the ring in a special collar that my sister made for him. Brandon pulled out the ring and got down on one knee I was so shocked I barely remember what happened! It was truly the best weekend ever celebrating with friends and family.

Special Thanks
