Ashley and Dane
How We Met
Dane and I met three years ago! We actually met online! I was very skeptical of the idea but moving to a new town knowing no one. I figured I’d give it a shot! Our first date was dinner and a baseball game and I was smitten! Our second date he showed up with flowers at my door. Dane is the most romantic man I have ever met. We truly are soulmates!
How He Asked
Where to even start..my fiancé is amazing!! After three years of dating he surprised me with the most romantic and well planned proposal..cue the tears! That Saturday I thought I was meeting a coworker for coffee, I walked into the coffee shop to see my friend from work accompanied by my best friend from college (and now maid of honor). I was so confused what my best friend from North Carolina was doing in Pennsylvania at this coffee shop! She handed me a letter written by Dane (my fiancé) that informed me today would go differently than planned. He had a videographer there to capture the whole day..and photographer! So the three of us left the coffee shop in a limo he set up for us complete with a mimosa bar! Our next stop was the hair and nail salon. At this stop was another surprise..another one of my very close friends from Pittsburgh!
So the four of us got our nails done and I got my hair and makeup done compliments of Dane. Then he had plans for us to go to happy hour where my fifth friend was waiting (from Nashville!). Each girlfriend had a card to give me written by Dane sharing a memory from the years we’ve been together. So we enjoyed drinks and exchanged laughs then the limo took us to the mall. There I was greeted by my mom (another huge surprise!) she handed me a letter from Dane telling me to pick out an outfit for the special evening ahead. Lastly the limo took us to our favorite restaurant.
We pulled up and my dad was waiting for me at the door..cue even more tears! He handed me the last letter Dane wrote to me.
Then my dad walked me into the restaurant where all our friends and family were cheering and clapping. He led me upstairs to a private room decorated with candles and flowers and pictures of Dane and I.
Not only did I lose it but my dad was crying and Dane! There Dane was waiting for me tears streaming down his face.
He said some of the sweetest things then got down on one knee and proposed! Then he put on our favorite song and we danced while everyone downstairs could watch through the glass windows upstairs. Then everyone came up and joined the party complete with catered food and drinks! It was literally the BEST day ever!!!!!
