Anna and Michael
How We Met
I remember meeting Michael my sophomore year at Indiana University – Bloomington. We were both in the Greek System and lived down the street from each other. We saw each other from time to time, but our “love story” didn’t start until post college. In July 2013, we reconnected at a mutual friend’s birthday party in Chicago, IL. I was living in New York City at the time. After a few plane rides, weekly phone conversations and daily texts, I realized he was the one. The rest is history. I’m ecstatic to be marrying the love of my life!
How He Asked
I couldn’t have been more surprised when Michael asked me to marry him last June! We were on vacation, hiking Mount Battie in Camden, ME. At the end of the trail, we stopped to take in the beautiful view of Camden Harbor. I quickly stretched and sat down. As soon as I looked over my right shoulder, Michael was holding the ring and asked, “Will you marry me?” with a huge grin on his face. It felt like a dream. After a few seconds, I finally screamed “YES!” as tears ran down my face. I was bursting with excitement and shocked to learn he hid the ring in his golf bag for a month. It was the most incredible night filled with laughter, champagne, lobster rolls, sailing and phone conversations with our families and friends. It was the most unforgettable engagement. Fast forward a year later, we had so much fun taking our engagement photos in the West Village in New York City. A thousand thanks to Casey Crowe Taylor for capturing the day! 354 days left as we continue to countdown to our wedding in Manchester, PA on June 16, 2018. Time to get planning!
