Angie and Brett
How We Met
We met in high school. We had known each other because we had a class together freshman year and again in senior year and we also had mutual friends. I thought he was so cute and apparently he thought the same about me. I always teased my friend Kellie because she plays match maker and all her couples ended up breaking up, so I dared her to put a couple together that wouldn’t break up and she joked around saying she would set me up. One day she came up to me and asked if I would go to prom with Brett and said yes not thinking she was being serious. She was. We went on a double date with her and her boyfriend and haven’t stopped talking since. He asked me to prom in front of our entire civics class.
We graduated high school together and we recently graduated community college together. We are also both on track to finish up at Cal State Fullerton in spring of 2017 just a month before our wedding.
How He Asked
He had been planning the proposal for two month. He had my friend, Alyssa, call me and invite me to see Annie on May 17th. She came and picked me up and took us out to eat before the show. We got all dressed up and got some much needed girl time when my friend Gino walked in just as we were finishing up with a card and a rose.
The card led me on a scavenger hunt to places significant in our relationship. Each destination had a close friend and another rose. The last destination was the lake near my house and both of our families and all of my friends from the scavenger hunt were there. At the very end by the water was Brett. He had a little path with rose petals, candles, and balloons. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him just less than a week from our 3 year anniversary. We plan to marry on my grandparent’s anniversary in 2017.
