Debbie and Jason
How We Met
How we met: Jason and I met in our teenage years, when he moved to my church in 2008. We would see each other every Sunday and say hi to each other once a month, at the most. My brothers and Jason were the bestest of friends and ever so often they’d mention him to me, but at the time I never thought of him more than a friend. It all started summer of 2014. We would chat consecutively everyday and sooner or later, we had a whirlwind romance over the summer. Little did I know I had the biggest crush on this handsome guy and it just became evident that the feelings were mutual. Meeting Jason was the best thing that has ever happened to me! I felt an instant connection and reciprocated unconditional love that I have never experienced.
How He Asked
The days leading up to the proposal: Jason made sure I was under the impression that we were having a belated sunset birthday dinner at a restaurant in Pebble Beach and it was nothing more than a weekend trip. Never in my wildest dreams would I have known today was the day he was planning on asking me to be his wife! Eighteen months prior to the proposal, Jason and I spent our first official date, in Carmel. Who would’ve thought he would also make me a fiancé at the same location?!
He proceeded to get down on his knee to ask to spend forever with me. In that moment, everything around me froze. I was in utter shock! All I remember saying was OHHMYGOSH OHHMYGOSH and AWE!
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing; what I was seeing! I thought to myself, someone pinch me cause this isn’t real!! I said YES to my forever! Time felt like a fraction of a second after that. Everything was so beautifully setup! I could not have imaged something more perfect than what was in front of me. We carried the night away by snapping photos into the sunset. And then at last, came the dinner that was originally planned for the night! Special thanks to my sisters who coordinated with Jason to setup this lovely evening and a huge shoutout to my little sister and the best photographer @tabitharuthfilms!
