Amber and Brackon

How We Met

My Fiancé and I began our journey when he asked me to be his date to his senior prom on Feb 2nd, 2012. He was such a perfect gentleman and I slowly began to fall in love with this cute shy boy from Bath County and I didn’t even realize it. 6 wonderful years go by so fast and we fall in love a little more each day. We learned so much about each other through these years and have grown together down our own paths to see what amazing opportunities await us. He always encouraged me through college and my sorority and I have loved watching him progress in his career. Our friends have poked fun for a while now always wondering when Brackon would propose. He always said he would know when the right time would come.

How He Asked

Brackon began planning about 6 months before the big day. He asked both of parents for permission and had my mom and one of my best friends help him begin planning out how he wanted to propose. On Feb 24th, 2018, I was heading to what I thought was a photo shoot for a wedding venue advertisement at Rosewood Acres, since my mom does things like this all the time! When I arrived a camera followed me from the car and through every moment on. She gave me a tour of the venue and took me through what a bride would receive when coming to book her wedding.

As I approached the barn a song began to play called “the long way” which is my favorite love song and I was slightly curious at this point. LOL. I got to the front where a letter with my name on it laid surrounded by flower petals. The letter consisted of so many beautiful memories we shared over the years and how much he loved me and never wanted to be without me.

The end said NOW TURN AROUND, and with tear filled eyes I saw him walking towards me surrounded by our friends and family!! I could barely say yes through my happy tears!! I love this man more than words could ever explain! And I couldn’t be more in love with our love story.

P.S. A fun background story on the date, Feb 26th is our actual anniversary but Brackon would always pretend it was the 24th just to aggravate me to pretend he didn’t know our anniversary and thought that was the perfect date!! Haha

Another fun fact, Brackon hid under our “now best man and matron of honors” bed FOR 2 HOURS because I showed up there unexpectedly before I headed to the photoshoot !! I can say wholeheartedly, I am going to marry my best friend!!
