Amanda and Peter
How We Met
It started 4 years ago when Peter moved to Vermont. He knew 1 person from Vermont from college and reached out to her when he moved there. That person was my best friend from High School. I was dating another person and Peter and I became friends via our mutual friend Jen. Peter told Jen that he was interested in me, more than just friends but that he would wait until I was single. When Jen told me this, I felt flustered and flattered. Eventually, I broke up with the person I was seeing. This was Peters time to ask me out. He did, and I accepted and we’ve been inseparable ever since. We’ve been through sometimes with Peter working nights and Peter being stationed for 7 months in Georgia but we’ve never faltered on our love for each other. He is my best friend, my partner in life and the most amazingly smart and thoughtful man.
How He Asked
I came to visit him in Georgia and Peter booked a room in a bed & breakfast on St. Simons Island in Georgia. He took me to a beach, and we walked up and down for a few hours talking and catching up and we got to this beautiful place on the beach where driftwood was washed ashore and people were riding horses.
I ran over to pet one of the horses and turned around and Peter was down on one knee. I couldn’t imagine him not in my life and there is no one who’s ever loved, cared and respected me more than him. We’re Ying & Yang and we fit together with our differences so perfectly. I love him so much and can’t wait to marry him on July 14, 2018, in beautiful Stowe, Vermont ❤❤
