Amanda and Greg

When I think back to the night we got engaged, I still get a fluttery, fizzy feeling inside. Greg proposed a few weeks before we moved into our new house. We were getting ready to go to dinner in our new neighborhood, and as I was grabbing my purse, he stopped and said, “You look almost perfect.” Shocked at this psuedo-jab, I whipped around and said, “ALMOST perfect?” and there he was, with a ring. As my brain began to sputter, he said, “You’d look perfect wearing this. I want to take my fiancee to dinner.” Needless to say, I walked out the door as his bride-to-be!

Fast-forward a year, and cue Allegro Photography. Our talented and wonderful photographers trekked from Boston to our home in Huntington on Long Island for a personal, homey engagement shoot. I’m biased, but I think our home was an adorable spot for photos. It was built in 1853 and has been completely redone and updated since. We love how the local history and charm work so well with our modern style and fresh new landscaping. To me, the pictures convey the sense of “home is where the heart is” that we feel every day. We also chose to do some of our photos at our local park and art museum to showcase a bit more of our neighborhood. We had a blast taking pictures there, and we were so lucky to have a gorgeous day for the shoot. As you can see, near the end of the session, we just couldn’t resist visiting the ice cream
truck!
