Amanda and Christopher

How We Met

I met my fiancé back in June 2014 when we were both working at a local restaurant. To be honest neither one of us were actually interested in each other. My friend actually set us up in October 2014. I decided to go to a Halloween party with Chris, we dressed up in captain America costumes.

Engagement Proposal Ideas in Capital city skydiving

Before we said goodbye that night he walked me to the car, stopped me in the middle of the street, and pulled me towards him and gave me a romantic kiss on the lips. I felt like it was a scene straight out of a movie. Turns out we are perfect for each other! We are very adventurous and want to see the world together. I can’t wait to grow old with him and see where life takes us!

How He Asked

I was totally surprised when we got engaged and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way! I’ve always wanted to go skydiving so I didn’t think anything of it when we went especially since Chris was always saying “I never want to get married.” So when we were up in the shaky little plane he jumped out first. I should have suspected something since he was super quite, which is not like him at all. I was freaking out a bit, because I didn’t realize how high up you actually go. I finally jumped out and it was such an awesome adrenaline rush. As I got closer to the ground I saw a huge banner that said “marry me beautiful.” I was shocked.

I just kept saying “oh my God,” it was taking so long to get down to the ground. I finally landed and had to unstrap from the guy I jumped out of the plane with. I was so excited I ran straight to Chris. He got down on one knee and said “will you make me the happiest man in the world and be my wife?” I just screamed yes, yes, yes! Funny thing is I had to ask him later what he said, because my ears had popped and I couldn’t actually hear him! It was truly a dream proposal!
