Alicia and Will
How We Met: I met Will in June of 2013, we met online through one of the dating sites. I was skeptical about online dating but when I started talking to Will I knew it was different.
Our first date he picked me up at my house and brought me and my mother flowers, we went out to dinner at Chili’s and went back to my house after to watch the Bruins Game, he knows that I love Hello Kitty so he bought a Hello Kitty backpack and inside was a note that said “Will you be my Girlfriend”?
From then on it has been nothing but amazing, I could not have asked for a more loving, caring, and supportive guy. In August of 2014 my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung and liver cancer. I am the only child so it has been very difficult between chemo and radiation, Will has stood by my side every step of the way, last month my mother got news that the cancer spread to her bone, pancreas, and brain.
My mother had to go back to radiation again.
The day of April 3rd,2o15 Will told me he wanted to reenact the first night we met and even wear the same outfits which we both had, he told me he wanted to take me to the gazebo in my town. Well that night we both got dressed up in the same clothes he came and picked me up and brought flowers like before, we went out to dinner and then to the Gazebo, there was some guy setting up for pictures and I argued lets just go home I did not feel like being there for no reason, but he convinced me, He played our song we call it, “Thinking out loud” by Ed sheerhan and we slow danced to it in the gazebo.
When it ends he said he will be right back, When I turn I see my whole entire family (parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins) and his family all walking towards me and then there is Will with the Hello Kitty Bag. He told me to open it and there was nothing in it and then he gets down on one knee and asks me to marry him.
Of course I said, and he hired the guy that was there setting up for pictures to take photos of him proposing to me and with our family.
2 days later my mom had a brain hemorrhage and had to be med flighted to one of the major hospitals, she pulled through but now things are so bad that when she comes home there will be Visiting Nurses and then Hospice my mothers cancer has spread all over and she has only days to weeks.
My mother’s dream was to always see me walk down the aisle, she always told me, “I fight for you Alicia” we have our wedding scheduled for April 9, 2016. I know my mother won’t be there to watch me walk down the aisle but I know she will be there spiritually. I am so thankful she was able to witness me getting proposed too, and the man that wants to marry her daughter will take good care of her, because she loves Will like a son.
