Alexis and Andrew
How We Met
Andrew and I met our senior year of college at Texas A&M University, whoop! My roommate grew up with Andrew in the same small town and introduced us. He asked me to get sushi for our first date and that was it! We have been together coming up on three years and are so lucky to have found each other.
How He Asked
Valentine’s Day fell on a weekday this year, so Andrew asked me to leave Saturday open so that he could take me on a date. I was clueless and thought that sounded like a great idea. He told me it would be a traveling dinner where we get appetizers at one spot, dinner at another, and so on. He told me that one of the stops would be a nicer place and that I should dress up, so naturally I bought a new dress and my best friend asked me to get my nails done. That should have been a clue, but I still had no idea! When we got to the first stop, he told me we were going to go a different way and lead me to a gazebo in the yard near the restaurant.
It was then I noticed a photographer out of the corner of my eye and that the gazebo was decorated in flowers with our picture! While I started saying “Oh my god!” Andrew got on one knee and asked me to be his wife.
Between tears, it was the easiest “yes” I have ever answered. We popped champagne and then headed onto our next stop. This turned out to be my best friends house where all of our family and friends were waiting to surprise us with our engagement party. It was truly the best day of our lives and a memory we will always cherish.
