Alexandra and Kyle

Wedding Proposal Ideas in Norwalk beach, Connecticut at my grandpa's cancer walk

How We Met

Kyle and I met when we were in high school, he was two years older, but we had mutual friends and we both played baseball and softball, so we were together a lot. We “met” again a few years later while I was home from college at the town bar everyone went to on winter or spring break! Kyle asked me if I wanted to hangout after, I politely declined! It wasn’t until almost a year later, during hurricane sandy, that we started chatting on Twitter out of all places.

I tweeted something silly about listening to the new Dave Matthews Band album, (whom kyle hates, who hates DMB?!) and he said DMV instead. I, of course came back with a witty “DMV lines are a killer!” comment and we have been together ever since!

How He Asked

My grandpa passed away from lung cancer a few years ago, and we celebrate his life by walking in Norwalk Hospital’s Cancer walk every year. Kyle has been coming for the past 5 years, so this year was no different that we attended the walk. In the morning, Kyle tried to wear jeans to the walk and I made fun of him until he decided to wear shorts and a hat on an 80 degree day on the beach. We drove to Norwalk to meet my entire family before the walk, hopped in my cousins car and drove to the beach. When we got to the beach my family grabbed a table and started taking family pictures, as we always do. My grandpa was the anchor of our family, so its always the best day when we all get to be together. Picture after picture, then Kyle and I took a few pictures, next thing I knew, the love of my life was down on one knee asking me to spend the rest of our lives together!

I was crying so much I couldn’t even say YES! but somehow mumbled it out! My entire family, including my parents, sisters ( whom helped Kyle plan the entire thing! They’re amazing!) , grandma, aunts, uncles and cousins. were able to watch us get engaged!! Kyle turned one of the most emotional days for our family, into the best day of my life!
