Alex and Santi

How We Met

Santi and I are from the same hometown, but we didn’t manage to meet each other until my senior year in college. A mutual friend had plans to introduce us in the future, but fate stepped in and we met before hand at a Jacksonville State football game in the Fall of 2016. I thought things went great, but it took Santi a month to reach back out to me. We still laugh about that all the time. Once he worked up some courage we went on our first date. It was New Year’s Eve of 2017 and the rest is history!

How He Asked

Friday was a dream. From sun up to sun down. The day started off with a letter to introduce what the rest of the morning would look like. I would have quiet time with the Lord, coffee with a friend and then a walk around the neighborhood with My roommate. After the walk I heard a car horn and girls yelling and I was off to get my nails done. A little later I was picked up for a very special lunch with another letter. The day would continue by packing my bags, getting ready, and heading to Anniston (our hometown) with Adele who would give me the third letter of the day. When we arrived we met some friends to catch up and reminisce about our high school memories. Next, I would get picked up by my parents and sister who presented me with the fourth letter! They took me to a special place in my families home where I found Santi waiting for me with a monogrammed Bible and the fifth and final letter. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I immediately said yes! We were then joined by some of our family and closest friends. It was an incredible night full of toasts, love, and laughs. It’s a day I wish I could relive over and over again!
